What is paint enhancement?

Paint enhancement is a less extreme form of paint correction.

When we perform paint enhancement, we tell the customer what paint imperfections WILL be fixed, and what imperfections WILL NOT be fixed. Paint enhancement is the most common type of correction we do! Why is that? Well, most customers don't care about the tiny imperfections they can't see.

What is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is nothing more than more aggressive paint enhancement. When dealing with a vehicle whose paint is REALLY DAMAGED, or a customer who has a detailed eye, we will perform paint correction to remove the maximum amount of scratches, swirls, etchings, and paint imperfections as possible.

Step 1: Paint correction preparation

Before you can even start correcting a vehicle's paintwork, all of the surfaces must first be cleaned and prepped. This begins with a thorough wash process using high-quality prep shampoo. A common misconception is that once a vehicle has been washed, it is clean. While it may be clean to the naked eye, the surface is often still covered with stubborn contaminants that require extra steps to remove.

Have you ever washed your car, ran your hand on your "clean" dry paint, and felt contaminants were still there? Whether your car is brand new, just purchased off the lot, or a car that you've owned for years, chances are that there is some iron contamination on your car's paint. These iron contaminants are tiny bits of ferrous (metallic) material that can get stuck on your car's clear coat from rail dust, brake dust, exhaust, etc. Performing an Iron Decontamination and Clay Barring will help eliminate those embedded contaminants in the clear coat. This decontamination process is essential when moving to the following paint correction stages.

Step 2: Iron decontamination & clay barring

Step 3: Paint correction

Now the paint has been thoroughly prepped, stripped, and is ready to be corrected! Prep work is critical in getting the best results performing any paint correction.
